BOARD OF DIRECTORS Mandla Langa Mandla was chair of MultiChoice South Africa from 2007 to 2010 and chair of Icasa from 1999 to 2005. In 1991, he was awarded the Arts Council of Great Britain bursary for creative writing. A number of his works have been published. In 2007, he received South Africa’s national order of Ikhamanga (silver) for literary, journalistic and cultural achievements and in 2009 a Living Legends Award from the eThekwini municipality. Mandla also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the South African Literature Awards in 2010. His directorships include Business and Arts South Africa, Foundation for Global Dialogue, the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism, Rhodes University School for Economic Journalism, Koketso Holdings Proprietary Limited and South African Screenwriters’ Laboratory (Scrawl). Yolisa Phahle Yolisa started her career as a classical pianists and violinist. In 1998 she started her TV career which included presenting, producing and sound and vision mixing for BBC. She served as chair on the production broadcast advisory board set up by Minister of Communications and has held several senior roles within MultiChoice South Africa. Yolisa is currently the chief executive officer of General Entertainment for the MultiChoice Group. In this role she drives the group’s content strategy that will deliver the best international content to the organisation’s 14 million subscriber homes, while increasing the focus on local story telling and industry development. She holds an MBA from GIBS Business School. Herman Wessels Herman holds several qualifications, including BCom, CTA and CA(SA). He was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. (PwC) from 1972 to 2005. He currently serves as a director for Keeromstraat 30 Beleggings and Naspers Beleggings, WWF South Africa, Peace Parks Foundation, Trencor, Swiss Re Life and Health Africa and Just Retirement South Africa and is a trustee of the Media24 Retirement Fund. 102 Phuthuma Nathi Investments 2 (RF) Limited integrated annual report 2019 FINANCIAL REVIEW
